Crystal Gayle became well-known for her hit single, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue”. The song was one of the biggest songs in the 70’s.
After its release in June 1977, the record immediately topped the Billboard country music chart in the United States for four weeks.
The song was also Gayle’s first and biggest crossover pop hit, peaking at number one for two weeks on the Cashbox Top 100 and number two for three weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
Gayle is regarded by many as one of the most significant and successful country pop crossover performers of all time.
However, very little information is known about her personal life and relationship with her beloved husband, Bill Gatzimos.
Who is Bill Gatzimos?
Bill Gatzimos is the husband of the multi-award-winning musical artist, Crystal Gayle. Their romance began in high school. Gayle and Gatzimos decided to tie the knot in 1971 and since then, have remained married.

He further went on to study law at Vanderbilt University and graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree in 1979.
When Gatzimos was attending law school, Gayle signed a recording contract with United Artists Records after they discovered her talent.
After completing law school, Bill Gatzimos went on to become Gayle’s manager and has since served as the president of their company, Gayle Enterprises.
When Gayle was quizzed about the secret of their long-lasting marriage, she mentioned that her marriage with Bill Gatzimos is successful because they each follow their “own interests” while allowing the other to “breathe.”
