She has two siblings: Joshua and Jasmine Duncan.
Jericka is an alumna of Aurora High School in Ohio, where she excelled academically and showcased her athleticism on both the basketball and track & field teams.
Her achievements in track & field included setting five records for Aurora High School.
After completing her high school journey, Jericka took her educational path to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. There, she pursued a degree in Communication.
During her college years, she continued with her passion for track & field, assumed the role of captain for the track team, and received the NAACP Image Award of Athletics in 2005.
In 2005, Jericka proudly graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, marking the successful completion of her academic journey.

Jericka began her reporting career in 2005, joining the NBC-affiliate television station WETM-TV in Elmira, New York.
She later transitioned to the CBS affiliate WIVB-TV, and then in 2010, she made her way to CBS-owned KYW-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
