Francine Lucas-Sinclair is the daughter of Frank Lucas, who was famous for his drug cartel and illegal businesses in Harlem.
As a child, Francine was caught up in the web of her parents’ criminal lives and was once enrolled in a witness protection program, which impacted her younger years.
The early life of Francine Lucas-Sinclair
Francine Lucas-Sinclair was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, to her father, Frank Lucas, and mother, Julianna Farrait.
Her date of birth is unknown, but she is currently in her 40s. She has two siblings, Frank Lucas Jr. and Ray Lucas. However, Francine grandparents raised her.
She had other siblings from her father’s previous relationships: Candace Lucas, Ruby Lucas, Betty Lucas, and Tony Walters.
Francine had an adorable and flashy childhood due to her father’s enormous wealth from his drug business.
As a kid, Francine Lucas owned an FAO Schwarz train set worth $10,000. She had everything a young child would want to live in affluence with.
Francine once mentioned that, when she was little, she saw her father as her protector, who worked in the candy business at night and came home in the morning to cook and play with her.
This life of bliss and wealth was Francine Lucas-Sinclair’s reality until January 1975.
Francine Lucas-Sinclair Parent’s Arrest
Francine’s dad, Frank, was frying eggs and bacon on his stove, with three-year-old Francine at his feet, when federal agents burst into their house one morning in January 1975.
Francine was only three years old when this raid occurred. During the raid, her mother, Julianna Farrait, used her to hide some of their money by stuffing it into her pants.
She also threw luggage containing thousands of dollars out the bathroom window, a crime she was later jailed for.
She received a six-month prison term, while Frank Lucas received a sentence of 70 years in prison.
Witness protection program
In 1977, Francine and her family entered a witness protection program and went to live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with new identities.
This resulted from the deal between Frank Lucas and the authorities to have a reduced sentence if he released the names and identities of other drug lords.
The family lived in Albuquerque for a year for security reasons and fear of retaliation from the people turned in by Frank Lucas.
Throughout Francine’s childhood, her parents frequently went to prison, and she had to live with her grandparents in Puerto Rico.
Education and career
Francine Lucas-Sinclair obtained a degree in Public Communications from the University of Puerto Rico. She now works as a social media manager.
Personal life
Francine Lucas-Sinclair is married to Mark Sinclair. They have two children, Julianna Celine and Jonah Sinclair.
Mark is a computer database manager, and a family of four resides in Florida, US.
Over the years, Francine has mentored and provided support to children whose parents have been imprisoned, just like she experienced throughout her early years.
Now, Francine focuses on her work as a social media manager and on raising her teenage children.
