Tucker Dee Chapman, the son of the renowned American bounty hunter Duane Chapman, became widely known due to his connection with his father, even though Duane was absent for most of Tucker’s childhood.
However, their relationship grew stronger during Tucker’s teenage years.
Early life
Born on September 8, 1983, Tucker is the second child of Duane Chapman and his third wife, Lyssa Tea Brittain.
Lyssa Tea Brittain raised Tucker and his sister, Barbara Katie, alone. Tucker experienced a challenging upbringing while growing up.
Unfortunately, his sister Barbara died in 2006, and he also lost his stepmother, Beth Chapman, in 2019 from cancer.
Tucker has a younger sister, Lyssa Chapman, who, like him, faced a difficult upbringing, leading her towards issues with drugs and early pregnancy.
During his teenage years, his father became more involved in his life, but after he became an adult, their connection grew distant.
At the age of 18, Tucker faced legal trouble and was arrested for armed robbery. He received a sentence of twenty years in prison for his crime. However, after serving just four years of his sentence, he was released on parole.
Tucker’s father, Duane Chapman
Duane Chapman was born on February 2, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, U.S. His fans and lovers often call him Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Duane is an American television personality, bounty hunter, and former bail bondsman.
He gained international recognition as a bounty hunter after capturing Andrew Stuart Luster, a convicted sex offender, in 2003.
Following this achievement, the A & E network produced a reality show, “Dog the Bounty Hunter” (2004-2012), which was based on the life of Duane Chapman.
Tucker Chapman also appeared in the series, along with other family members and friends.
After the conclusion of “Dog the Bounty Hunter”, Chapman appeared in another TV show called “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt” (2013-2015), which followed a similar format.
In this series, he worked alongside his late wife and business partner, Beth Chapman. Country Music Television (CMT) aired the show on their channel.
His most recent series is Dog’s Most Wanted, and WGN America aired the show from September 4, 2019, to November 6, 2019.
The controversy between Tucker Dee Chapman and his father
The controversy between Tucker and Duane Chapman revolves around an audiotape where Duane used racial slurs against Tucker’s girlfriend.
Tucker’s girlfriend at that time, Monique Shinnery, is of African-American ethnicity.

During a conversation between Tucker and his dad, Duane Chapman, Duane called Tucker’s girlfriend the N-word.
Unknown to Duane, Tucker had audiotaped the whole conversation between them. In 2007, Tucker sold the tape to The National Enquirer for $15,000.
Tucker’s decision to sell the tape to the media caused a significant public outcry and led to consequences for Duane, including the cancellation of his show.
This incident strained their relationship and drew considerable attention from the public.
In an interview on Fox News, Duane issued a public apology for his racial comments and also attempted to amend the relationship with his son.
Where is Tucker Dee Chapman now?
Currently, there is no publicly available information about Tucker’s occupation or activities.
He has successfully maintained a private life away from the public eye, especially after the incident involving his father.
