The American entertainment industry will always remember the likes of Dan Blocker. The late actor was famous for his role in Bonanza’s TV series.
Since his demise in 1972, fans have wondered what the late actor’s family has been up to. Although his two sons, David and Dirk, followed in their father’s footsteps, only a little has been heard of their mother and Dan Blocker’s widow, Dolphia Parker.
Who is Dolphia Parker?
Dolphia Parker is the celebrity wife of the late American actor and Korean war veteran Dan Blocker.
The media doesn’t have her exact date of birth; however, she was born in the 1930s.
Since the death of her husband, it is known that she never remarried but instead focused on raising her children.
Dolphia Parker met her late husband, Dan Blocker, in the early 1950s while both were Sul Ross State University students.
The pair married in 1952, and she remained with him until his untimely death in 1972.
Dolphia welcomed her first twin children, Danna and Debra, with her husband on July 7, 1953, in Alpine, Texas.
Then, on May 4, 1955, her first son, David Douglas Blocker, was born. Also, on July 31, 1957, Dolphia welcomed her second son and youngest child, Dennis Dirk Blocker.
The Blocker’s children shared an extraordinary bond with their parents while growing up. They still share this bond even as adults and amongst their families.
At the time of Danna and Debra’s birth, their father, Dan Blocker, was studying at Sul Ross University for his master’s degree.
The late actor was pursuing a degree in Drama and English then. He also worked as a substitute teacher to earn extra money for his family.
However, in 1956, his acting career took a better turn, earning him a broad audience and popularity.
Dolphia and her husband were then able to raise their children with a proper home upbringing and care for their needs.
Dolphia’s son Dirk Blocker is a Hollywood actor like his father, while David Blocker is a famous Hollywood producer.
