Early Life
Carrie Ann Inaba was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, on January 5, 1968. She has Chinese, Irish, and Japanese ancestry and is the youngest of two children.
She first went to Punahou School and afterwards attended Hanahaouli School.
Carrie Ann grew up playing the violin and piano and sang in the choir. She also learned various dance styles, including the native Hawaiian dance known as the hula.
When she was 16 years old, she and her best friend Tina Horii won the state of Hawaii’s “Search for Talent” competition.
After graduating from high school, Carrie Ann moved to Japan to pursue a career as a musician.
